Commitment Date: July 31, 2019
Assessment Ratio: 100%

  • Homestead Exemption $20,000 for those who qualify
  • Veteran's Exemption for those who qualify.

Payment of Past Due Taxes: Within one month of foreclosure, only cash and certified checks will be accepted for payment of past due taxes. No personal checks or credit card payments.

In order to determine April 1, 2019 valuations for the 2019-20 Tax Bill, the Assessing Department will be conducting inspections over the next few months to update property record cards and to follow up on properties with building permits obtained through April 1, 2019. Inspections will be conducted periodically, as our schedule permits, over the next few months which will include taking digital pictures of the building(s). If an interior inspection is necessary, we will request entrance at that time. If you are unavailable, we will leave notification to set up an appointment.

Tax maps are for reference only, may contain errors, and are not suitable for survey or other technical purposes.

Exemption Applications

Exemptions are offered by the Town but are reimbursed by the State. The amount exempted will differ from year to year depending on the Town's assessed value according to the State's ratio.

Old Map & Lot Conversion Chart

A few years ago the Town of Readfield changed the map and lot designations on all pieces of property. If you have a map and lot that you can not find use this conversion chart which will allow you to look up a piece of property in the commitment book and using the conversion chart, find the new map and lot numbers. This will also allow you to find the property on our new GSI maps that are also loaded here on our website.
