Tax Relief / Tax Assistance / Exemptions

There are many options available to residents for tax exemption and assistance:

  • Are you a veteran? You may be eligible for a Veteran's Exemption.
  • Are you a Surviving Spouse/Parent or Child of a Deceased Veteran? You may qualify for the Surviving Spouse Veteran Exemption 
  • Do you live here in Readfield and have owned a home in Maine for more than 12 months? You may be eligible for a Homestead Exemption.
  • Are you a senior citizen who could use a little help?  You may be eligible for Local Property Tax Assistance.
  • Do you participate in the Maine Property Tax Fairness Credit Program?  You may be eligible for Local Property Tax Assistance.
  • Having a hard time paying your property taxes? You may qualify for a Tax Abatement.
