Greetings All:  The Town of Fayette will hold a Public Information Forum on Tuesday, February 25th starting at 7PM at the Fayette Central School to inform and discuss the New England Clean Energy Connect (NECEC) project also known as the CMP Corridor.  The project proposes to build 145 miles of High Voltage Direct Currency (HVDC) transmission line in order to bring hydropower energy from Quebec to Massachusetts. This corridor will pass through Western & Southern Maine Towns.

Although Fayette is not directly impacted by this construction, NECEC will go through  the nearby Towns of Jay, Livermore Falls, and Chesterville.   Given numerous questions and conversations had among residents, the Fayette Board of Selectmen supported the idea of a public information event to inform Fayette citizens about the project.

Thorn Dickinson, the Vice President of Business Development at Avangrid the leader of NECEC project will present a summary of the project and its merits and  Former State Senator Thomas Saviello of Wilton will present the concerns about the proposed project and the petition effort to the resolve to reject the NECEC Transmission project.
