Please join us to discuss a proposed Food Sovereignty Ordinance.  State legislation permits municipalities to develop and implement a Food Sovereignty Ordinance to provide opportunities for direct producer to consumer sales of certain raw and processed foods in order to support local agriculture and expand consumer rights.  The Select Board welcomes feedback on the issue of local food broadly as well as comment on a draft Local Food Ordinance.

Adult Use and Medical Marijuana Opt-In

Please join us to discuss the possibility of opting in to marijuana retail sales, manufacturing, cultivation, and testing, in Readfield.  State legislation permits municipalities to opt-in and regulate various adult use and medical activities through local ordinances.  If no action is taken they remain prohibited.  The Select Board welcomes feedback on the issue of marijuana opt-in broadly as well as comment on potential ordinance language.  If marijuana opt-in ordinances are developed in the future then a separate public hearing will be held to consider them.
