REMINDER: 2020 Boat Registrations are due starting May 1, 2020

Attention Readfield Boat Owners:

In March, Governor Janet Mills directed Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Commissioner Judy Camuso to allow boaters to operate without a current 2020 registration and Lake and River Protection sticker until April 30, 2020. Boat registrations normally expire at the end of each calendar year. This notice is a reminder to all boat owners that as of May 1st, 2020, all motorized watercraft on Maine waters must have a valid registration. In addition, all motorized watercraft on inland waters must display the lake and river protection sticker.

If you need to re-register your boat please go online to our website by clicking here and following the online directions. If for some reason you are unable to do the online process please call the town office at 207-685-4939 or email.

First time boat registrations cannot be completed online, they must be done at the town office so the town can collect sales and excise tax. Registrants should call the Readfield Town Office to complete the new boat registration.

All boats purchased from dealers should have a temporary registration that is good for 20 days.

At this time we are still not having any residents come into the town office but we are able to work with our residents and help them with getting registrations completed.
