Readfield Fire Station Fire Suppression System

The Town of Readfield seeks proposals from qualified firms to complete the design, State permitting, and installation of a full Fire Suppression System to protect life and property at the Readfield Fire Station. The Fire Station is located at 1154 Main St. in Readfield and was expanded in 2020 to include a total of four apparatus bays, a meeting space, office spaces, kitchen (hood system already installed), two bunk rooms, a day room, utility rooms, two full bathrooms, a half-bath, and partial basement.  Several design components were incorporated into the building expansion to support fire protection but the fire suppression system installation will cover the entire structure.  Collaboration with the State Fire Marshall’s Office is required to ensure the design is NFPA compliant and to facilitate permit approval.  Local permitting will be the responsibility of the Town.

All proposals are to be submitted in sealed envelopes addressed to the Town Manager, Readfield Town Office, 8 Old Kents Hill Road, Readfield, Maine 04355, or via email to manager@reasdfieldmaine.org, and in all cases shall be clearly marked “ 2022 READFIELD FIRE STATION FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM DOCUMENTS – DO NOT OPEN”. Proposals for completing the project will be received at the Town Office until 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2022 at which time they will be publicly opened. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Readfield Fire Station.
