Community Broadband Meeting

The Town of Readfield has been quietly working on the issue of internet access for the past year or so, beginning with a priority goal established by the Select Board.  We have partnered with five other local municipalities to investigate the possibility of a regional approach to bringing reliable, affordable, high speed internet to our communities.  The group is called the Western Kennebec Lakes Community Broadband Association, or WKLCBA.  It's a mouthful, but we believe that working together will help attract potential service providers, improve our prospects with grant agencies, and realize economies of scale.  One of the first steps we are taking is gathering public input and comment on the need for this service in Readfield, and any public comment on the subject of internet service provision generally.  We welcome you all to join us for a Community Broadband Meeting to do just that:
