Come learn about Readfield's Comprehensive Plan Update and help to shape the direction of our community!  Our first Community Meeting (held last month) provided insight on four main areas:

  • FOSTER LOCAL Economic development
  • Promote ACTIVE LIFESTYLES
  • Prepare for FUTURE READINESS
  • Encourage CIVIC ENGAGEMENT

Our upcoming Community Meeting on February 25 will focus on a common vision and the future of land use in our community.  Here's the agenda, with things kicking off at 2:00 pm at the Town Office (or on Zoom):

Welcome and Introductions – 10 Minutes (Comp Plan Committee Chair Jessica Gorton and Town Manager Eric Dyer)

Comprehensive Plan Presentation – 20 Minutes (Jessica Cobb, Kennebec Valley Council of Governments)

  • What is a Comprehensive Plan and why are we updating it?
  • Who is involved?
  • What trends are we seeing since the 2009 Update?
  • What are some of our survey results telling us?

Focus Area Discussions – 80 Minutes (Various Comp Plan Committee Facilitators)

  • COMMUNITY VISION - What do we want for the future of our community?
  • LAND USE AND GROWTH AREAS - Where and how do we grow, and minimize conflict between uses?
  • VILLAGE AREA INVESTMENT AND DEVELOPMENT - How do we strengthen and encourage activity in our village areas?
  • OPEN SPACE - How to we manage and conserve the undeveloped areas of our community?
