Readfield Beach Safety!

Beach

The Readfield Town Beach is one of our busiest summer spots.  Wih the warmer weather and sunshine we want to remind our residents and guests that water safety is critically important.  The Town provides water quality testing weekly during the summer months and staff work hard to ensure the facility is as safe as possible.  However, safety at the beach is a shared responsibility.  Please enjoy the Town Beach while following the Beach Rules and keep the following things in mind with respect to water safety:

  • All users of the Town Beach assume all risk. There is NO LIFEGUARD at any time.
  • Children under 15 must be supervised by an adult remaining on the property at all times, and children in the water should be watched at all times by a parent or guardian.
  • Drowning can happen in busy places and in plain sight.  Sometimes higher levels of activity can actually increase risk.  Like other medical conditions (stroke for example) drowning is not always fatal but can have serious health consequences.
  • For more information visit the CDC website on Accidental Drowning causes and prevention.

Thank you for keeping your beach safe and enjoyable!
