Absentee Ballot requests are currently being accepted and are available starting May 12, 2023. You may request your ballots now and they will be mailed out starting the week of May 15, 2023. If you would like to pick up your ballot in person please wait until the date that they are available.
You must be a registered voter in the Town of Readfield to vote in Readfield.
To register to vote, or for questions concerning voter registration, contact the Town Clerk at 685-4939 or clerk@readfieldmaine.org
The last day to register to vote by mail is: Wednesday, May 24, 2023. Starting May 25th you will have to register in person at the Town Office or at the day of voting at the polls. Proper ID (Maine State License or ID/Last 4 of SS#) and proper Proof of Residency is required for all new Readfield voters.
How to request a ballot:
- In person at the Town Office. Friday, June 9th is the last day to request your absentee ballots – the Town Office is open regular office hours; 7:30am to 3:30pm on this day.
- Print off the Absentee Ballot Request Form and Return to the Town Office
- Call the Town Office at 685-4939 and we can take your request over the phone – phone requests must be made directly by the voter and the voter must speak with Town Office staff; voice mail and email requests are not accepted per State of Maine law.
- Mail a ballot application to: Town of Readfield, 8 Old Kents Hill Road, Readfield, ME 04355
Absentee Ballots will be mailed starting Monday, May 15th.
Absentee Ballots may be returned by mail or placed in the Town Office DROP BOX by the voter OR an immediate family member.
All absentee ballots must be received by 8:00 pm on Tuesday June 13th.
To return your ballot on Election Day; return to the voting place at: Kents Hill School - Alfond Athletic Center, 1617 Main Street, Readfield ME

Voter Registration - voters may register at the town office during regular or special hours, or at the polls on the day of elections. Proof of identity and residency are required in order to register to vote in accordance with Title 21-A Section 121,(1-A).
