Nomination Papers for June 14, 2024 Town Meeting

Nomination papers are available starting February 21st for the June 11, 2024 Municipal Town Meeting.

The following seats are up for nomination:

  • Select Board – 2 terms (3 years each)
  • RSU #38 School Board – 2 terms (3 years each)
  • Local School Board – 3 terms (1 year, 2 year  3 year term each)

Things to Know!

  1. Anyone wishing to be on the written ballot must obtain at least 25 and not more than 100 signatures from Town of Readfield registered voters.
  2. Nomination papers are available at the front desk during normal business hours. 
  3. All nomination papers must be returned to the Town Office by 3:30 pm on Friday, April 12th 2024 by the person who is running for that position.
  4. If you are on a current Board, Committee or Commission and are elected to be on the Select Board you will have to resign from your current BCC.
  5. When taking out papers we will ask for your current contact information - this is so we are able to contact your for future correspondence in the weeks leading up to the Town Meeting and required documents needing to be shared. 
  6. Once papers are returned and all signatures are verified the Town Clerk will confirm with you that they have been met and you will then receive an informational packet regarding requirements/rule/etc. when running for a Town/School Board that will help you be more prepared.
